A Vision Rooted in Faith and Sustainability
At Holy and Healthy Homesteads, our mission is simple: to integrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ with sustainable farming practices to build self-sufficient, resilient communities around the world. We believe that by nurturing both the spiritual and physical needs of individuals, we can create a lasting impact that transcends generations. Our work is not just about planting seeds in the ground but also about planting seeds of faith, hope, and empowerment in the hearts of people.
Our Journey
Our story began over a decade ago in Thailand, where our founders, DeJuan Davis and Nangfa Doungsom, served as missionaries. As they ministered to local communities, they saw firsthand the challenges of dependency on external donors. This experience inspired them to create an organization that would empower churches and communities to become self-sufficient. After years of prayer, planning, and dedication, Holy and Healthy Homesteads was born.
Our organization is now dedicated to planting self-sustaining churches worldwide, each paired with a farm designed to provide for the community’s needs. These farms not only offer fresh, nutritious food but also serve as centers for evangelism, education, and community engagement. Through our work, we aim to fulfill the Great Commission by spreading the Gospel and fostering holistic health in every community we touch.
What We Do
At Holy and Healthy Homesteads, our work is multifaceted and mission-driven. Here’s how we make an impact:
- Planting Churches: We establish self-propagating churches that are equipped to grow spiritually and expand physically by duplicating themselves within their communities. These churches receive two years of intensive training and support, ensuring they can thrive independently without relying on external donors.
- Sustainable Farming: Each church is paired with a farm that provides for its needs and the needs of the surrounding community. We focus on sustainable practices, such as permaculture, organic farming, and renewable energy, to ensure long-term food security and environmental stewardship.
- Community Engagement: Our farms serve as community hubs where people come together to learn, grow, and support one another. We host events, workshops, and Bible study sessions that foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
- Education and Training: We offer comprehensive training programs in sustainable agriculture, biblical literacy, and community leadership. Our goal is to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to lead healthy, productive lives and contribute positively to their communities.
- Global Expansion: Our vision extends beyond local communities. We aim to create a network of self-sustaining farms and churches worldwide, partnering with Christian organizations to bring our mission to new regions and cultures.
Our Values
Our core values are rooted in our faith and guide everything we do:
- Faith: We believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives and communities. Our work is grounded in Christian principles, and we seek to honor God in all that we do.
- Sustainability: We are committed to promoting sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and ensure long-term food security. We believe in responsible stewardship of the land as a reflection of our faith.
- Community: We value the importance of community and strive to create spaces where people can come together, support one another, and grow spiritually and physically.
- Empowerment: We are dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to become self-sufficient. We believe that by providing the tools and knowledge needed for success, we can help people build better lives for themselves and their families.
Meet Our Founders
DeJuan Davis and Nangfa Doungsom are the passionate leaders behind Holy and Healthy Homesteads. As veteran missionaries with over a decade of experience in Thailand, they have a deep
understanding of the challenges faced by communities that rely on external support. Their vision for Holy and Healthy Homesteads is to create a model of self-sustaining churches and farms that can thrive independently while spreading the Gospel.
DeJuan grew up with one side of his family on a farm and the other in construction, giving him a unique perspective on hard work, resourcefulness, and community service. Nangfa, who is Thai, overcame significant challenges in her own life, including the loss of her mother at a young age. Her resilience and determination have been instrumental in shaping the mission and values of Holy and Healthy Homesteads.
Together, they are raising their four children—Noah, Joshua, Kaitlyn, and Mali—with the same values of faith, family, and service that guide their work. They hope that their children will one day continue the mission of Holy and Healthy Homesteads and make a positive impact in the world.
